SASSA Grant Dates Confirmed: August And September 2025 Payout Schedule Released

SASSA Grant Payment Dates 2025 : The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has now set the payment schedules for grants, updated for August and September 2025, guiding millions of beneficiaries on when to expect their much-needed financial support. Grant payments are some of the essential lifelines for pensioners, persons with disabilities, parents, and unemployed South Africans.

August 2025 Grant Payment Dates

SASSA confirmed that the August 2025 payments are all being paid forthwith, starting with the older persons, and beneficiaries should therefore plan accordingly:

  • Older Persons Grant – From 22 August 2025.
  • Disability Grant – From 23 August 2025.
  • Child Support & Foster Child Grants – From 24 August 2025.

SRD R370 payments are, however, to be made later in the month and will be staggered to avoid any service overloads, the agency said.

September 2025 Grant Payment Dates

Looking ahead, from 2 September 2025, the September 2025 grants will start getting paid earlier in the month. The confirmed schedule is:

  • Older Persons Grant – from 2 September 2025.
  • Disability Grant – from 3 September 2025.
  • Child Support & Foster Child Grants – from 4 September 2025.

Recipients are reminded to collect the grant only after the confirmation message is received, especially if the payment is made through retail partners.

Where And How To Collect Payments

SASSA continues to make its grants available for payment through various channels:

  • Direct deposits into bank accounts are preferred, as they provide faster access.
  • Retail stores such as Shoprite, Boxer, Pick n Pay, and Checkers.
  • Post Office branches and cash pay points in rural communities.

For safety, making payments into bank accounts is encouraged and, if possible, avoiding carrying large sums of cash is advised.

Biometric Verification Reminder

Some beneficiaries are to undergo a biometric verification procedure for various anti-fraud measures. The biometric verification might involve fingerprinting or facial identification. The Social Assistance Institution urges beneficiaries to complete the verification process as soon as possible so as not to be delayed further in their application.
