SASSA Grant Payment 2025 : This list shows the official payment dates for September 2025 released by SASSA, and millions of South Africans rely on monthly grants to keep their homes fed and basic needs met. The beneficiaries should take note of these fixed dates so as to avoid any confusion and are able to access the money on time.
Grant Payments Begin From 2 September
Grant disbursements will start Monday, 2 September 2025. Payment to Older Persons grants will be the first to be paid, followed by Disability Grants, and finally by Child Support and all other grants. Having this kind of staggered payment will smoothen the transaction and prevent overcrowding at ATM’s, retail outlets, and Postbank branches.
Full Payments Schedule For September 2025:
- Monday, 2 September 2025-Older Persons Grant (Pension).
- Tuesday, 3 September 2025-Disability Grants.
- Wednesday, 4 September 2025-Child Support Grants And Others.
Grant beneficiaries are reminded that once payment has been effected into their accounts, the funds remain in the accounts until withdrawn. Beneficiaries must, therefore, not rush to collect the grants on the exact date of payment.
Beneficiaries Encouraged To Use Multiple Withdrawal Options
SASSA encourages grant beneficiaries to use multiple withdrawal options to avoid long queues. Payments can be withdrawn via:
- ATMs throughout South Africa
- Retail outlets such as Shoprite, Checkers, Pick n Pay, Boxer, and Spar
- Postbank Branches for those who want to collect their payments in person
Using retail outlets or ATMs is generally safer and faster than queuing up in busy Postbank branches.
SASSA Warns Against Bogus Schemes
It has become a practice for fraudsters to deceive the vulnerable with each payment cycle. SASSA has warned citizens not to trust anyone promising early access to grants or demanding personal info such as identity numbers, PINs, or SASSA card details. Beneficiaries must verify payment from the official SASSA channels, and not others.
Why This Month Matters
September remains an important month for some households, as it is the time when children resume school after winter holidays and families prepare for increased seasonal expenditures. The R370 Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant, administered on a different payment schedule, also continues to support unemployed South Africans.
